Pink Bison and Four Ladies and a Whale

I'm playing around with colours, and with pulling together a grouping of things. All these are my own creations, including the jewelry and hand painted toys.

This is a big-ish piece done on a table top.... which makes it hard to hang! It's too heavy for traditional hooks and hangers, so once it goes up it needs serious drywall anchors or masonry anchors. I have yet to find a spot for it on my walls.
It's a painting over a painting, so some of the original details come through, like the hand from the nose! That was just too cool to get rid of. I like the way things like that double up and make the finished image look.... wise, somehow.
Acrylic mostly in this one, no pastel. The smooth surface didn't call for the Pastels, only wanted the paint, and that was fine for me.

A few more from the mask series

The top image is a detail of the whole. I use a lot of layers in my work, using the overlap of colors to build texture, shadow, etc. This is the darkest piece in the series, really pushing the application of layers. The depth of tone is achieved here with the use of pastel and acrylic layered.

This is one of the more recent pieces, done on raw canvas with pastel, then sealed.

These two pieces were done back to back, so the colors are more similar in life than in photo. Acrylic, pastel, pencil crayon.
